The west coast is considered the most attractive part of the island, where you will find numerous wooded areas as well as coves and deserted islets, and that part is especially interesting for boating tourists.

The pleasant Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by mild winters and warm but pleasant summer months, greatly helped the island of Rab in the development of diverse flora and fauna in the area.

As a result, the gastronomy is at the highest level, and in numerous catering facilities on the island you can taste local foods that are procured from local cattle breeders, farmers and fishermen.

As far as the history of Rab itself is concerned, it is most important to point out that the city of Rab had the status of “municipium” during the Roman Empire and was an extremely important commercial and religious center, as evidenced by the rich cultural heritage of this place, but also one of the most beautiful and best-preserved old city centers on Mediterranean, which is recognizable by its visage consisting of four Rab bell towers: Sv. Maria, St. Ivan, St. Justin and St. Andrew.

The best way to get to know the history of the island and the way people used to live in this area is the Rab Fair, a three-day festival that is the oldest and largest such festival in Croatia and is also the central event of the summer season.
